Mesquite Dunes Storm

Mesquite-Dunes-Storm

Death Valley National Park. Taken on one of the most epic adventures ever. After a good night of wind, we woke and made the hike out to the Mesquite Sand Dunes. The morning was amazing…one of the most incredible sunrises ever…and due to the wind the dunes looked like we were the only people to ever set foot on them. It was amazing. This is one of my favorite images I’ve taken. Just knowing how the shot came to be, and the miserable set of rain and flood that followed that night make it all the more special. Death Valley had 1.4 inches of rain the entire year this was taken. One full inch fell 10 hours after this shot was taken.
