Sunrise Over Halfdome

Sunrise-over-Halfdome

Yosemite National Park. One of America’s most beloved parks and photographic destinations. This is always one of our most popular workshops at the Aperture Academy. I took this image the day before a workshop, on a morning right after a small dumping of snow found its way to the valley. While this park sees millions of visitors during the year, most only stay for the daylight hours. Mornings after a good snow can be some of the most peaceful, beautiful times in Yosemite. This shot required me to wade out into a thawing field of snow in order to capture just the right frame.
