Skaftafell Reflections
Skaftafell National Park is a great location for landscape photography. Glaciers, Waterfalls, mountains, rivers, wildlife, etc. I found this spot about 3am after hiking 15 miles around the mountains. Funny, this location was actually only about 3/4 a mile from my tent. I really liked the plantlife that grew along this little pond…and the reflection More »

In a Beautiful Place
Often times when I was out shooting in Iceland, I found myself with an amazing sunset/sunrise and no real place to shoot. On this evening I went out and found this old abandoned dwelling on the shores of a lake…it was very surreal, and made for a great subject to shoot. I also had a More »

Beautiful Precipice
Goðafoss is one of the best waterfalls in Iceland, in my opinion. I walked extremely close to the edge in order to provide a subtle, different view of this magnificent cascade. This area was often visited en masse by tourists during the day, but in the evening was an isolated, almost creepy place.

Washed Ashore
A large chunk of ice has washed ashore on the beach outside the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon in southern Iceland. This chunk of ice easily weighed 2 tons or more, and was a site to see. The waves on this beach are constantly hitting the ice, and the form changes all the time, eventually nothing is More »

Skogafoss
Skogafoss is a b east of a waterfall. It’s a massive curtain falling over 100 feet of lush green cliffside. It’s one of the more iconic locations in the country and with a campground located just feet from the base of this giant, it’s easily one of the most visited. I’ve seen a number of More »
Forever Lost
Sometimes familiarity doesn’t bring contempt, it brings nice photography. I was in this little city along highway 1 in Iceland for at least 6 days over the course of my journey for one reason or another. I got to know the small village REALLY well. So well in fact, that I would just wander the More »
Awake and Dreaming
Borgafjordur Eystri is a remote section of the Eastern Fjord region of Iceland. Not quite one of the tourist hot spots yet, I had wanted to come here and really spend some time photographing this area. I wasn’t disappointed. The evening I hiked out to these mountains I had the entire place to myself, well, More »

Isolated in Light
The mountain Kirkjufell is one of the most striking in the Snæfellsnes peninsula. When the tide is high it almost seems like an island floating just off shore. This shot was taken at 3am after a couple hours sleep. I had hoped for more clouds in the sky, and a higher tide…but didn’t get quite More »

Sapphire In The Storm
Located deep in Iceland’s interior Hveravellir is one of the most colorful and interesting geo-thermal locations. This image was created during a small break in passing storm systems which allowed for a brief splash of color in the sky. The color of the water in the pool is really this deep of a blue. When More »
